Single-Slot Finality (No Orphans)
Unlike Nakamoto consensus chains (like Bitcoin or Ethereum pre-Merge) where "orphan blocks" occur due to temporary forks, Monad utilizes MonadBFT which provides single-slot finality. Once a block is proposed and agreed upon by 2/3 of the validator stake, it is instantly final. Therefore, "orphaned blocks" do not exist on Monad. Validators can only miss their scheduled slot if they are offline.
